The following is a general description of the benefit plans and programs available to eligible Citadel and Citadel Securities employees. This summary is qualified in its entirety by the provisions of the actual plan documents.

 
Daily Sickness Benefit
Administered by AXA
In the case of an extended illness, all employees are eligible for a continuation of 80% of base salary for up to two years, after a 30-day waiting period.
 
Accident Insurance
Administered by AXA
In the case of a debilitating accident, all employees are covered by basic accident insurance, which provides for a continuation of 80% of base salary up to the UVG salary limit of CHF 148,200, after a 2- day waiting period.
 
Supplemental Accident Insurance
Administered by AXA
In the case of a debilitating accident, all employees are covered by accident insurance that is supplemental to the basic UVG coverage.

This coverage includes:
 
  • Medical treatment in a private ward
  • Daily allowance of 80% of base salary, above the UVG limit of CHF 148,200
  • A disability lump sum payment of up to 1x base salary
  • A death benefit lump sum payment of 1x base salary
Occupational Benefit
Administered by AXA
Citadel’s occupational benefits plan provides the following:

Disability benefits:
60% annual salary after a 24-month waiting period.

Pre-retirement death benefits:
  • Surviving partner’s pension equals 30% of the employee’s annual base salary
  • Child’s pension equals 6% of the employee’s annual base salary
  • Any accrued retirement assets remaining at the time of the employee’s death, after the surviving spouse/partner’s pension has been financed, will be paid as a lump sum. 
Post-retirement death benefits:
  • Surviving partner’s pension equals 60% of the employee’s annual base salary
  • Child’s pension equals 6% of the employee’s annual base salary
Business Travel Insurance
The Chubb Group
Citadel provides life insurance and AD&D coverage for all employees traveling on business. In addition, the Cigna Global Medical Benefits Abroad plan provides employees emergency medical coverage while traveling on business.
 
Retirement benefits:
The amount of the employee’s annual retirement pension is based on the accrued retirement assets on the employee’s retirement date.

An employee’s retirement account is funded by retirement credits. The amount of an employee’s retirement credit is equal to a percentage of base salary.

The total percentage of base salary contributed as a retirement credit is determined by the employee’s age as illustrated below:
 
  • 25-34: 12.15%
  • 35-44: 15.45%
  • 45-54: 27.50%
  • 55-65: 27.50%
Responsibility for funding the retirement credit is shared by the Citadel and the employee.
  • 66.67% of the retirement credits are funded by Citadel
  • 33.33% of an employee’s retirement credits are funded by the employee

Paid Time Off
All full-time employees receive 25 days paid annual leave each year that are pro-rated based on start date. Citadel recognizes nine public holidays per year in Zurich.
