Family Wellness Benefits Guide
Supporting Your Total Wellness
As an employee, you have access to benefits to support your whole family. We offer a range of programs and resources available to help with family building and caretaking, and support for your own wellness. If you would like more detail on these programs, please see the full policy on the intranet. OverviewTime Off: We offer a generous time off policy that includes vacation, paid holidays, sick leave, and personal days/floating holidays. Parental Leave: Support is available to employees and their families who have recently become parents, or who receive a child for adoption or foster care. Enhanced Caregiving Resources: Access to 20 days of care per child when regular daycare resources are unavailable through Bright Horizon. You also have access to in-home back-up child and elder care. Adoption Assistance: Employees who have chosen to build families through adoption may be eligible for reimbursement. |
Time Off
We offer a generous time off policy that includes:
Vacation: Employees who have more than two years of full-time work experience (either from Citadel, Citadel Securities or at another organization) will receive four weeks (20 days) of annual vacation. Employees who have less than two years of full-time work experience will receive three weeks (15 days) of annual vacation.
Paid Holidays: We recognize 10 NYSE holidays every year.
Personal Days and Floating Holidays: Employees hired before July 1, 2023 will receive one floating holiday and two personal days. Employees hired on or after July 1, 2023 will receive one personal day and no floating holidays.
Sick Leave: Employees are granted six sick days each year and up to five may be rolled over into the next year if they are not used. Your balance of accrued sick leave cannot exceed 10 days in any given year, unless otherwise required by state law.
Parental Leave
We are committed to providing our employees and their families with support to care for a new child, including an adopted child or one being cared for through foster care. We believe it’s important to have sufficient time to care for and bond with a new child without impact to base pay. Birth mothers are eligible for a total of up to sixteen weeks of leave at 100% of regular pay. We offer three types of paid parental leave:
Medical Needs Leave: Employees who have given birth may receive up to 100% of their regular pay or salary for up to eight weeks for medical purposes related to childbirth.
Caregiving Responsibilities Leave: Employees who are designated as a Primary Caregiver in the employee’s household may receive up to 100% of their regular pay or salary for up to six weeks within twelve months of the child’s birth or adoption.
Bonding Leave: Employees who are the parent of a newly born or adopted child may receive up to 100% of their regular, straight pay or salary for up to two weeks within twelve months of the child’s birth or adoption. Employees who are eligible for more than one type of paid parental leave may take the leaves consecutively.
Caregiving Resources through Bright Horizons
You have access to support when your regular childcare routine is disrupted through Bright Horizon’s Back-Up Childcare Program. You can get help when:
Your regular caregiver is unavailable
School closes for vacations, holidays or in-service days
You are transitioning between childcare arrangements
You have business travel, relocation or other changes affect your work schedule
You are transitioning after maternity leave
To better support employees who need flexible caregiving services, we have expanded Bright Horizon coverage to also include in-home back-up care for children or elders. Each employee is eligible for 20 days total of in-center or in-home care support with Bright Horizons.
Family Building
The medical plan provides enhanced fertility services such as egg retrieval, freezing and storage (no limit to number of procedures an individual can have covered). In addition, we are proud to support employees who have chosen to build families through adoption. Employees who adopt children under 18 years of age may be reimbursed a maximum of up to $25,000 per child, with no lifetime maximum, for eligible adoption-related expenses. Please see the intranet for the full policy.
